Talent Inclusion

The LYR Talent Inclusion Programme, launched in September 2021, builds on LYR’s mission to create accessible pathways from school to lifelong participation in rowing and other watersports. The programme establishes a network of LYR Open Clubs across the country - weekly, youth club-style sessions designed to help young people transition from our Active Row school programmes to rowing and paddling in the wider community.These clubs foster confidence, belonging, and progression in a supportive environment. Together, they feed into the LYR Boat Club, a new water sports club founded on inclusion, ensuring that every young person, regardless of background or ability, has the opportunity to stay active and engaged on the water and attend rowing and kayak regattas and go racing if they want to.
