Schools in Islington can take part in Active Row Islington, which has been running since September 2022. Multi-sport on-water sessions take place at the LYR pontoon on the Olympic Park.
Active Row Newham works with 10 secondary schools in the borough, with on-water activity taking place at the Royal Docks and on the Olympic Park.
LYR runs rowing, canoeing and SUP programmes for the community around the Olympic Park, opening access to the park's waterways as part of the London 2012 Olympic Legacy
The London Regatta Centre is LYR's main on-water base. Using our fleet of boats, we deliver rowing at all levels for young people taking part across our engagement, life skills and competition programmes. Working with our partners, Sea Cadets, we also offer canoeing and sailing at the site.
LYR works in partnership with Gravesend RC and 10 local schools to deliver Active Row Kent
Bristol is the newest city that LYR is operating in. The Active Row programme there launched in March 2024 and is working with ten schools.
Working in partnership with Leeds RC, LYR uses Waterloo Lake in Leeds' Roundhay Park to deliver taster rowing sessions as part of Active Row Leeds. The Active Row Leeds programme works with 27 state secondary schools across Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield.
Active Row Nottingham has been running since September 2022 and currently works with 12 secondary schools across the city. Our partnership with Nottingham & Union Rowing Club enables young people to try on-water rowing alongside the indoor programme in their schools.
