So we keep 3 on the oars at all times (toilet breaks are allowed!) and then we each have responsibilities to take care of during off-shifts. Albert is in charge of navigation (liaising with Robin on shore), Will is head chef (today’s chilli con carne was a win!), Andy is in charge of the water desalination pump and making sure we have enough water, Eddie keeps boiling water topped up for Will to cook with (ie add to dried ration packs), Darren’s in charge of first aid and maintenance, and I do the science (2 x eDNA samples each day and change the micro plastics filter).
